Friend, heyo~ How's the first half of the year lookin' to ya? Hope it's good, or ya workin' to make it so!
Me? I've been lookin' at the not-very-distant future lately...
Ya know I work at a grocery store? Well, that store's gettin' demolished in the summer. So 3 months from now. It goin' down with the rest of the shoppin' center that they gonna replace with a spankin' new one.
'Bout time really; the place's built in the 50's 'n' 60's. I'm sure ya can imagine how behind it's from what's expected from a shoppin' center. It don't even got any public toilets...
Ya also can imagine it gonna be hard for me to work there when the demolition starts. Unless I change profession to a construction worker, haha.
Luckily my employer's promised to place us in their other stores. They've plenty in the city, 'n' we even get to wishlist our preferences.
So I looked up what's within 2 km radius from me apartment. Whoppin' 5 stores! Lookin' good for me 'n' my stubbornness to commute by joggin'.
If they don't take my requests 'n' place me anywhere further tho... I'mma draw a line right there. My time's my most valuable currency, as I've said in one of my talks sum time ago. I'm not gonna give more of it to a commute. Or change me joggin' to sittin' in a bus.
We'll hafta see how it all turns out.
It still gonna be a life change for me, but y'know what? I'm feelin' optimistic 'n' all excited! Sumthin' new! Sumthin' different!
This change, it got me thinkin' back to me life. Seems a status quo can only last more or less 4 years for me, before a shake up happens. Either 'cause of an external force, or my own desire for change.
My current job's pushin' 4.5 years right now... Not gonna lie, I'd been thinkin' 'bout makin' sum sorta move for 'tleast a year. I'd known the demolition comin' sooner or later, plus mind's been wanderin' off to new possibilities.
But here we are now – off to sumthin' different! Decided to use this as an opportunity to request an extended 2 months' leave before startin' my new position. Get me sum time to adjust. Try out other endeavors I've been cookin'... I'll talk 'bout those later, when they've taken shape.
Tho tell me, ya noticed this sorta life change cycle I'm talkin' 'bout? Is it jus' me or do others got a repeatin' pattern as well..?
